Anaphoric Distance in Oral and Written Language: Experimental Evidence

We investigate the variation in oral and written language terms of anaphoric distance (i.e., textual between anaphors their antecedents), expanding corpus-based research with experimental evidence. Contrastive corpus studies demonstrate that genres include longer average than genres, if is measured clauses (Fox, 1987; Aktaş & Stede, 2020). designed an experiment order to examine contrasts mediums, using same genre. aim gain more insight about impact medium, a situation where both mediums convey similar level spontaneity, informality interactivity. story continuation study, participants are recruited via crowdsourcing.
